Roman Gutierrez was born and raised on the west side of San Antonio. By the age of 13, he was a frequent drug user, involved in gangs and violence, attempted suicide, and incarcerated numerous times. By age 15, Roman was involved in a fight which resulted in Roman being pronounced dead for six minutes. At 19, Roman was stabbed by his best friend and was pronounced dead for the second time in his life, this time for over five minutes. But at age 25 he walked into a church service and gave his life to Jesus Christ.
Pastor Roman Gutierrez has faithfully served as a pioneer pastor at The Door Christian Church in Victoria, TX. Then stepped into the role of an evangelist and as of today has visited over 42 different nations all around the world. His testimony has made an unimaginable impact on the youth of today. He has been a guest speaker in many junior highs, high schools, universities, and youth centers.
During the South Texas Bible Conference of San Antonio, Texas Pastor Roman and his wife placed the role of an Evangelist aside and answered the call to be missionaries and were launched into the nation of La Paz, Bolivia. As of today that church “La Puerta” is still growing and reaching the many lost souls of La Paz, Bolivia.
Once they returned from the mission field Pastor Roman assumes the pastorate of the The Door Church of San Marcos, Texas from 2008 – 2011. In January 2012 Pastor Roman and his family once again answer the call and came to The Door CFM of McAllen, Texas where he currently serves as Senior Pastor. The Door CFM and Pastor Roman have a driving passion to win the lost through discipleship and church planting.
Pastor Bryan & Aisha Castillo have been members of The Door CFM since they were children. They know first hand the peer pressure that comes from friends and family, the temptations and difficulties of adolescence, the rejection and battles that every teenager face each and every day. They have a love and a passion to see God touch our next generation. They currently lead Breakaway Ministries, Youth Bible Study classes which are held on Friday nights.
Rafael Vazquez was born and raised in the municipality of Cosamlaopan, located in the central zone of Vera Cruz, Mexico. He was raised with strong traditional beliefs of Catholicism.
At the young age of thirteen Rafael moved to Reynosa Tamaulipas, one of the most dangerous border cities located just south of The Rio Grande Valley. It was at this time that Rafael started to experiment with drugs, alcohol and everything the world had to offer.
By 2009, looking for answers and vowing to change his life for good Rafael moved to the Rio Grande Valley and in that same year Rafael walked in to a church service and gave his life to Jesus Christ. Today Rafael and Iris Vasquez along with their three children serve as Spanish Pastors of The Door CFM of McAllen, Texas.
Orlando and Isabel Salinas haven been faithfully serving at The Door CFM of Mcallen Texas for the past 14 years. During these few years Orlando has established a very fruitful prison/parole ministry and also founded an organization called “Choose to Change Foundation.” Today Orlando Salinas is full time Evangelist who has been sharing his incredible “Dead Man Walking” life story at many local churches, school, juvenile facilities, county jails and prisons.
